Theresa W. White, CCFS®

Theresa began her career in the computer science industry and realized quickly that she preferred to put her business and economics education to use.  That led her to the automotive industry where she had a successful career championing substantial sales and profit growth for over 20 years. Her experience included sales, business development, training, recruitment, and consumer credit.

She joined the financial services industry in 2011 and soon discovered her passion to help people realize that “money is not math and math is not money” and that finance is not a foreign language. She works with corporate executives and professionals who are the financial decision-makers balancing the demands of their career and family but secretly struggle with fear, anxiety, and guilt because they have a “financial junk drawer.” She helps them take control by educating and developing strategies to make significant financial impact. She is also a sought-after speaker, utilizing her expertise helping families learn “how to play and win at the college funding game” through her partnership with The College Funding Coach.

Theresa holds a double major in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems with a minor in Economics from Mary Baldwin College as well as the FINRA Series 6,63,65, and SIE licenses. She is a Certified College Funding Specialist® (CCFS®) and a member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors). Theresa has also completed the Education Loan Analyst™ (ELA™), which is an additional course for CCFS® advisors who seek to achieve a more in-depth knowledge of the student loan system and how it works. She is licensed for Life, Accident, Health, and Long-Term Care insurance.

Born in the Philippines, Theresa immigrated to the US with her parents and two sisters.  Growing up in Houston, Texas with her four sisters, she wanted to live somewhere she could experience all four seasons.  She now resides in Brambleton, VA with her husband, Eric, son Devin and rescue Am-Staffie, Boom.  When not working, she enjoys traveling, fine dining, cooking, theater, comedy shows, golf, the beach and pickleball.
